Our team just returned from the annual NAIS Thrive 2025 conference, held from February 26–28 in Nashville, TN. VenturEd Solutions was proud to be a Diamond sponsor at this annual event where over 3,000 educators, administrators, and industry leaders gathered to explore the future of independent schools.

This year’s conference fostered collaboration, innovation, and inspiration. Attendees engaged in meaningful conversations about enrollment trends, financial sustainability, leadership development, and the private K-12 family school experience.

    What We Learned

The conference featured two compelling keynote speakers: Sekou Andrews and Shankar Vedantam.

Sekou Andrews, an award-winning spoken word artist and motivational speaker, kicked off the event with an energizing keynote that blended poetry and inspiration. He encouraged school leaders to embrace creativity and innovation, setting an uplifting tone for the conference.

On the final day, Shankar Vedantam, host of the Hidden Brain podcast and former NPR social science correspondent, explored the unseen forces shaping human behavior. His insights into unconscious biases and decision-making offered school leaders a deeper understanding of how these factors influence education and leadership.

Both speakers provided fresh perspectives on leadership, creativity, and psychology, equipping educators with new strategies to navigate today’s challenges in independent schools.

Breakout sessions and workshops covered critical topics shaping the future of independent schools. Sessions on innovative approaches to financial aid and tuition modeling provided administrators with new strategies to make financial aid more accessible and efficient. Discussions on fostering diversity, equity, and belonging emphasized the importance of inclusive school communities and the impact of policy decisions on student success.

Additionally, presentations on the future of AI in independent school operations highlighted how emerging technologies can streamline administrative tasks and improve decision-making. Leadership development and faculty retention were also central themes, with speakers sharing best practices for cultivating strong, sustainable school communities.

Our team was inspired by the school leaders and administrators we met, who openly shared their experiences – their challenges, successes, and innovative strategies shaping their institutions.

“Attending NAIS Thrive 2025 was a remarkable experience. As a former teacher, I was particularly inspired by the dialogues with educators on how best-of-breed solutions are ushering in a new era of educational technology—prioritizing reliability, security, and intuitive design that creates a seamless experience for both schools and families. Hearing firsthand how these advancements are shaping classrooms and supporting communities really reinforced my belief in the power of smart, well-designed technology to improve the educational experience for all,” said Jenn Jeffers, Sr. Product Marketing Manager, VenturEd Solutions.

SSS: Simplifying Financial Aid for Schools and Families

Managing financial aid efficiently is crucial for independent schools—it ensures equitable access to education while maintaining financial sustainability. That’s where School and Student Services (SSS) comes in. This powerful financial aid solution simplifies the awarding process, making it easier, faster, and more accurate for schools.

SSS provides schools with a streamlined financial aid assessment platform, reducing administrative burden and helping schools make fair, data-driven decisions. By offering comprehensive family financial analysis, SSS helps schools gain a clearer picture of each applicant’s need, ensuring that resources are allocated in a way that maximizes student access while preserving institutional priorities. With deep insights and reporting tools, SSS empowers schools to distribute aid effectively while maintaining financial stability.

Our new partnership between TaxStatus® and SSS makes the financial aid process smoother and more reliable for schools. Instead of waiting for families to gather and submit tax documents manually, this integration provides real-time, IRS-verified income data—saving time and eliminating paperwork. With instant access to accurate financial information, financial aid teams can make decisions with greater confidence, minimize the risk of fraud, and ensure aid is distributed fairly and efficiently. This allows schools to streamline their workflows, reduce administrative burden, and focus on building stronger relationships with families.

    Looking Ahead

The insights gained from NAIS Thrive 2025 reaffirm the importance of collaboration, adaptability, and innovation in independent school education. We look forward to continuing our partnerships with schools to help them thrive in an ever-changing educational landscape.
